About

Hey all. This blog is going to serve as a personal repository for my own journey as a security engineer. I hope that by documenting my struggles, both personal and professional, that someone else will benefit from my “tribal knowledge.”

I won’t sit here and claim that my journey is standard and that I didn’t benefit from privileges others may not have, but I will claim that for the most part, I got myself to this point by working hard and taking control of my life. My success was far from guaranteed and I could have just as easily given up. A word of encouragement though is that I did seriously consider giving up and by a mixture of perseverance and cowardice I did not. The reward has been worth it.

As I write to you, anonymous reader, I am relatively happy professionally and personally. No matter how dark it may seem, luck is agnostic. It may be good or bad luck, and if your luck is bad surely it will give way to good luck at some point. Stack the deck in your favor as much as is possible.
